HOUSE S
Santander, Colombia
Area: 345 m²
2023–2024

In a rural area of Santander, a couple sought a retirement home for their family. Beneath a clay tile roof, the first level contains all daily activities, framed by corridors and the native landscape.

The project is inscribed within a square at the center of the plot. On the northeast side, an L-shaped exterior corridor leads to the entrances of the house. Inside, three volumes shape the first level: the social block with the kitchen and living room; followed by a central block that contains the bathrooms and the connection to the service area on the lower level; and the most private block, which opens toward the bedrooms.

At the center, the staircase leads down to the lower level, which houses the service area: laundry room, pantry, storage, and mechanical room.

Compact and filled with natural light, House Ese is a retirement home for its owners, a transitional place for their later years and a home for the future of their children.
